Twas the night before Thanksgiving, and all through the town, West Bend was a stirrin', to a real hot new sound. The Unheard Of at Kate's Place, a bar on Main Street, had folks just a dancin', to a real cool beat...

The Unheard Of at Kate's Place!

It was November 23rd, 2022. Night was upon the city of West Bend when we all met up at Kate's Place - a really fun place on Main Street atop the banks of the Milwaukee River. After setting up the equipment we headed over to Casa Tequila for some great Mexican food. Then it was back to Kate's Place for sound checks by Joe Polizzi, and after a few minor adjustments, it was time for the music to start.

The bar quickly filled up with a bunch of real cool folks and Kate was busy pouring drinks. Good times!

What a great way to kick off the Thanksgiving weekend of 2022! Thank you Kate for a fun night and big thanks to all the folks that dropped in or caught the gig on Facebook  Live on The Unheard Of Metropole. The entire gig is posted below in 2 parts. The Unheard Of - Halloween Shindig In Review

The big buzz on the streets of music town this week is all about The Unheard Of's presentation of their Halloween Shindig extravaganza at Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall on Milwaukee's south side this past Saturday, October 29th. There was music, dancing, and some dynamite costumes.

If you missed it, well you came to the right place, gonna give you a chance to check it out with a few peeks and a link to the entire show that was filmed in front of a live audience complete with skeletons, ghosts, and the likes of which you expect at a top shelf party - a Halloween Shindig party!

The Unheard Of Presents: Halloween Shindig - October 29

There's an event coming up this weekend that Jim Galaxy, aka The Vox Elder, and I have been working on for the last 2 months. It's The Unheard Of presentation of Halloween Shindig from 9:00 PM till 1:00 AM with 4 bands and a costume contest with some really cool prizes. So please do come join us, wear a costume if you like, and take part in the night's fun and festivities.

The show is at Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall in West Allis on October 29th and will begin at 9:00 PM then continues until 1:00 AM - yes, right through the magic of the witching hour and then some. There will be a $10 cover charge at the door.

The Unheard Of will be broadcast on Facebook Live as well as mingling with the folks and can be seen live (or replay) at The Unheard Of Metropole.

Psychedelic Psaturday - October 15th At The Circle A Cafe

There's a really awesome gig coming to The Circle A Cafe on Saturday, October 15th from 8:00 PM till 10:00 PM featuring The Unheard Of Opening at 8:00 and then The Mod Violets at 9:00. Both are top-notch rock groups well known around the Milwaukee music scene and beyond. As you know from my previous posts The Unheard Of is a 1960s-style Psychedelic rock group started by Jim Galaxy (aka The Legend Of The Vox Elder) in 1984 and has been playing and releasing vinyl and digital music ever since. The Mod Violets are "Musically complex, lyrically deep songwriting and a crack rhythm section." The Mod Violets also have their own super cool rock music out on both vinyl and digital. Both these bands know just how to get a party going and are masters in the art of song. This is a show I guarantee you don't want to miss.

Coming soon: The Unheard Of Presents - Fall Equinox

Coming up on the night of Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Bremen's on Clark Street in Milwaukee's Riverwest area is The Unheard Of presentation of The Fall Equinox featuring Francesca and Tom opening at 9:00, Bella Brutto at 10:00, then The Unheard of at 11:00. The show will go on till around midnight and will not require a cover charge.

The entire Fall Equinox show will be broadcast streaming live on Facebook from The Unheard Of Metropole starting at around 9:00 CST. You can go there and join anytime for updates and to watch on Facebook Live or see recordings if you miss the live show. All performers will be included. The Unheard Of Metropole page is open to everyone but for automatic updates, you need to join.

Rachel and Sal got things going as the opening performance. This was the first time I got to hear Rachel live and the range of her voice is quite impressive. Not only does she travel through the scales with flawless pitch and rhythm but she shares such feelings and emotions as only a true artist can do. There were a lot of involuntary, "Oh my gosh" and "That's beautiful" comments heard all-around some, of course, coming from me.

SaxyCass and Enzo continued the awesome vibe in their debut as a duet hitting the Milwaukee live music scene on a path through the town including an appearance at Summerfest in June. Saxy's saxophone and voice blended with Enzo's keyboarding and singing were a real special experience for all of us there. We are going to be hearing much more about them as summer goes by and we all get to enjoy live shows again.

The Unheard Of stepped onto the stage taking us right off into the forbidden zone in their Psychedelic Rock sound perfected over the years and decades. I was trying hard to focus on doing my Facebook live recording but the sensuous feelings and sounds of Vox Elder and The Unheard Of got the best of me. I looked around and saw others on the dance floor as well. They just have that special way of bringing that buzz out in all of us.
