Our little dance went on a few more times. He’d appear, we’d talk, he seemed to know me well, I ask his name, no answer, and poof! Nowhere to be found, just vanishes into the smoke of a crowded bar…
I was out the door just a step or two away the whole time, but out on the street – nothing! The buildings were right next to each other without any place to hide for at least 50 feet in any direction, the street was empty, no parked cars or traffic, and not a trace of my rather extraordinary friend. I’ve never seen him again. I wonder who that mysterious man was…
Her eyes got wide and her lips tightened as if she were going to whistle while she looked inquisitively at the lines and creases of my opened hand and said, “Oh my” she looked back into my face and with a kind of laughing smile, as if she just heard a cute but not terribly funny joke that you’d politely laugh at. She looked at me and said, “You’re supposed to be dead already” she laughed again then said, “You’re supposed to be dead.”…
Well those are a couple of other-worldly encounters that I’ve had, there have been more, many many more. But I wonder about these things, are they guides of some sort reassuring me that I’m on the right path? I mean really now, you’d think that an angel or guide having gone through all the trouble of a physical manifestation would share with me some deep sage wisdom or at very least winning lottery numbers. I’m far from being a gifted psychic but do have a strong spiritual nature, and really, having one’s life saved by an apparently divine intervention is far better than some silly old lottery numbers. This is a truly fascinating and mysterious world we live in isn’t it?”
I hope you decide to read the book. The collection of stories covers everything from quite funny, to deeply spiritual, to heartbreakingly sad. These are things that I so much want to share with the world. It’s a peek into a portion of my life that may at times be considered by many to be controversial or even strange, but it’s my life – and a pretty darn good one at that.
